How Facility Economics Work

Gross Profits represent money earned from SCP tests before bonuses and salaries. Each Scientist paired with Class-D inmates and a connected SCP generates tests automatically once desk links are valid. More active test chains raise gross profits linearly, which is why early-game expansion focuses on Safe-class SCPs like SCP-005 before chasing expensive Keter containment.

Clean, Safety, and Health bonuses multiply gross profits based on maintenance coverage, security staffing, and medbay availability. Neglecting any pillar shrinks effective income even when test counts look healthy. The Economics Report tab in-game shows live percentages—use those numbers here for accurate estimates.

Server Racks require Foundation Technologies research ($1,000,000 plus four hours) and cost $500,000 each to place, but each rack adds 0.125x gross profit as intel bonus at paycheck time. Twenty-five racks cap the multiplier at 3.125x, making racks a long-term compounding investment rather than an early shortcut.

Using This Calculator

Input your average gross profits per cycle from the in-game Economics Report. If you track hourly income instead, divide by cycles per hour based on your SCP test frequency. Bonus fields accept percentage values matching your Clean, Safety, and Health bonus readouts. Server rack count should reflect placed racks, not research unlock status alone.

Results display estimated net revenue before personnel salaries and event fines. Salaries scale with staff count and final profits, so high-growth facilities see salary drag increase over time. Use the facility checklist tool to verify bonus prerequisites before trusting calculator output.

Optimization Tips

Chase bonus stability before raw SCP count. A facility with two well-connected Safe SCPs and full maintenance coverage often out-earns a messy layout with five disconnected anomalies. Security becomes mandatory before Euclid capture scales—riots and breaches impose fines that calculators cannot predict.
