Why Janitors Exist

Clean bonus is one of the three facility averages (Clean, Safety, Health) that multiply testing income. Mid-July prop packs and denser Class-D schedules drop Clean scores faster. Janitors focus on litter and body cleanup after riots or breaches, while maintenance closets still handle broader facility upkeep.

Community Mid-July footage (qWTLgAB6770) shows janitors as a staffed role tied to new furnishing slots. Hire them only after placing stations in build mode—empty headcount without stations wastes wages.

Station Placement Rules

Put janitor stations within short walk of high-traffic test corridors and Euclid choke points. On four-floor towers, duplicate coverage roughly every two Z-levels so upper wings do not drag site-wide Clean averages during SCP-185 or SCP-062 cycles.

Do not bury stations behind locked airlocks that only Task Force can open. Janitors need the same pathing courtesy as scientists—blocked doors silently kill Clean recovery after a riot.

Janitors vs Maintenance Closets

Maintenance closets remain mandatory for engineers, repairs, and general upkeep—including Tesla Gate fault recovery. Janitors specialize in cleanliness pressure created by mid-July clutter and post-breach debris. Budget both: closets for systems, janitors for Clean averages.

If Clean is green but Tesla units stay broken, you need engineers—not more janitors. If Clean is red while Security is fine, hire janitors before buying another prestige SCP.

Clean Bonus & Income
